Happy Thanksgiving! I can’t believe how fast these months are flying by! Wasn’t it just Halloween yesterday? Before you know it, the snow will be flying and Christmas carols will be everywhere. Although, if you’re anything like me, you started listening to Christmas music the day after Halloween and already have a large majority of your decorations up. Speaking of, Hobby Lobby is having a huge 50% off Christmas sale right now through the 24th, so this is the perfect time to start decking the halls!
This time of year is a two sided coin. It’s crazy hectic with meal planning, baking, decorating, picking out the perfect gifts for loved ones, and having to brave the dreaded last minute crowd at the grocery store when you forget a key ingredient to your perfect holiday meal (don’t lie, we’ve all been there.) But it’s also a time to slow down and reflect on everything that’s happened the past year, how you’ve changed and grown, and how much you have in your life to be grateful for. I know the holiday’s can also be tough on some people for various reasons, so if you’re feeling down, or need to be reminded how beautiful life really is, here’s a list of 20 things to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. The first few points on this list are going to be kind of obvious, but I really believe they’re everyday things that we all take for granted sometimes, and need to be reminded how blessed we really are to have them.
Family. I have no idea where I would be without my family. They bring so much love and light to my life and support me through every one of my goals and dreams.
Friends. I don’t have near the amount of time I wish I had to spend with my friends, especially when some of them are in other states, but I know that whenever I need someone, regardless of how long it’s been since we talked last, they’ll be there to love and support me.
Pets. I’m such a big pet person. Give me all of the cute, soft, fluffy, fuzzy animals in the world and I’ll be happy. Whenever I’m feeling a little down or having an off day, a few minutes snuggling my kitty can make anything better. Unless it’s when he’s meowing next to my bed at 6:30am to get me up. 😂
Food. I love food, so I’m generally always grateful for it, but America has such easy access to large quantities when other countries struggle to make ends meet. Never take a simple meal for granted.
Music. Music is such a wonderful thing. It’s capable of evoking so many emotions in so many different ways. It can make us happy when we’re sad, motivated when we feel like doing nothing, it helps creativity and inspiration, and all around just makes life a little more fun!
Technology. Technology is one of those things that you either love or hate. It’s great when it works, and terrible when it doesn’t. But technology has given us so many things that make our lives easier and more productive. Not to mention Google alone. We basically have the entire world at our fingertips 24/7.
Faith. My faith is everything to me. No matter how bad life can get, or how bad it seems, my faith keeps me going. Knowing there’s a sovereign God who loves me, who has everything in His hands no matter what, gives me a peace and comfort that’s unlike anything else.
